About

The present research project consist of  strenghtening a solid and dynamic research network in analysis by discovering new connections between nonlinear partial differential equations and the  real world. Our aim is to use methods from fundamental mathematics in order to get new effective tools to study and emphasize the complexity of some phenomena arising in applied sciences.

The world we live today needs to understand many complex anisotropic phenomena involving various types of nonlinearities. The qualitative properties of these nonstandard systems is of crucial importance in many applied fields, and this will be handled in this project. By using as main tool the mathematical analysis of anisotropic nonlinear problems and control problems, which reveals the connections between continuous and discrete models, we will propose a unitary approach that combines a variety of methods and techniques to develop advanced mathematical theories with relevant applications.

Based on his consistent expertise in nonlinear analysis the PI intends to emphasize new ideas and techniques that will lead to new ground-breaking results at the interplay between pure mathematics and applied sciences. We shall develop highly qualified human resources, including young researchers and PhD students, to whom we want to offer the opportunity to work in the field of the project with internationally recognized specialists. Fulfilling our ambitious but realistic objectives, we aim to increase the international visibility and the prestige of our research teams at the University of Craiova.
